Play Tipis (Hillbilly Shack, Wash Station) 2015/2016

As part of a redevelopment of their Boreal Exhibit located in the North American area, working with Steve Harvey of Slimbridge WWT, we were commissioned to build a hillbilly shack, wash station and a trio of timber play tipis that were part of a larger encampment with the view of demonstrating how indigenous people lived sustainably in wetlands and to be used as a focal point for events and activities for both children and adults. The encampment also included a larger canvas tipi and a carved totem pole and bear sculptures by Keith Matthews.
